Inspection Methods for Corrosion Evaluation of Conventionally Reinforced Concrete StructuresNational Association of Corrosion Engineers / 20-Jun-2008 / 244 pages ISBN: 1575902206

The purpose of this standard is to provide the corrosionspecialist, engineer, or owner a framework for evaluatingthe corrosion condition of a reinforced concrete structurebeyond simple visual inspection and basic soundingtechniques. Evaluation techniques that identify general andlocalized corrosion of conventional reinforcement areprovided. Although this standard specifically addressesconventionally reinforced structures, many of thetechniques also apply to prestressed and post-tensionedreinforcement. Commentary is included for screeningcorrosion control methods that might be considered as partof recommendations for restoration of the reinforcedconcrete structure being evaluated. However, it is beyondthe scope of this standard to fully address all factorsassociated with the design, criteria, and implementation ofsuch corrosion control measures.
