Determination of simulated filter plugging point (SFPP) of middle distillate fuelsThe Energy Institute / 2009 / 10 pages

Scope This standard specifies an automatic procedure for the determination of the simulated filter plugging point (SFPP) of middle distillate fuels. This method
is applicaple to both untreated fuels and those containing additives, including those incorporated to modify the wax structure as it precipitates during cooling.
The results of this test can be used to predict low temperature operability, and to assess the lowest temperature at which an automotive diesel fuel will give trouble-free operation in a diesel engine vehicle.
NOTE 1 This method may be used for testing diesel fuels containing FAME but at present there is no precision for such material.
